Bob Eggleton, Chicon's Artist Guest of Honor, couldn't attend AussieCon 3, the 1999 Worldcon in Melbourne, Australia.  Ironically, he had recently married an Australian citizen, and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service wouldn't let her return to her homeland while her permanent residency application was pending.  Having been nominated for the Best Artist Hugo Award, Bob asked me to accept on his behalf if he should happen to win.  He did.  Here are Chicon Associate Chairman Becky Thomson and I admiring his Award.  Alas, he wouldn't let us keep it!  This picture was taken at the Hugo Losers' Party.  David Hartwell, the Susan Lucci of the Hugo Awards, is barely visible in the back-ground.
